Section 2: Explanation of the philosophy
behind saving time and reducing daily redundancy.
This is a new section, always adding
new ideas!
(Warning... These are concept ideas,
not all of them have been proven to actually save time... This
is also a free-write and not yet intended to be published...
I'll reformat this article soon.)
- Get a Lable Maker from Costco.
- Place items in obvious places they should be, for easy access
for you and your guests, with clear lables.
- Vitamins, Lotion, Spare Toothbrushes, and SoapBars in Every
Bathroom.
- Games and Interactive Activites around the House for Guests.
- Giant wall calendar, filled out with your Towns Local Activities,
Next to a Activity Idea list to fill in blank days.
- Planning Out How to Do the Most Multitasking Per Week, and
Eliminating Needless Tasks.
- Smart Minimalism while Being Very Prepaired. Dont buy junk
you dont NEED, especially dont buy junk food. Healthy snacks
are great.
- Re-Labled Pill Prescription Bottles Can Store for traveling:
MultiVitamins, Gum, SPF 50 SunLotion, Shaving Razors, Cut Off
Toothbrush, etc.
- ZipLock Gallon / Quart Bags and Clear Trash Bags, Great for
Traveling. Bring multiple clear trash bags for sorting laundry
and keeping elecrtonics dry.
- When traveling, toss items into a huge plastic bin with lid,
instead of a suit case. This is waterproof/portable and more
space for stuff.
- Only Wear Laceless Shoes. This is not optional. Get laceless
hiking shoes, running shoes, church shoes, etc.
- Skin-SAFE Clean Wipes in your glove box, for sanitary reasons
and when cleaning out the interior of vehicle. Clean off your
face oil, too.
- Emergencey 4-button Cell Phone for everyone: 911 and 3 best
friends.
- Rechargable Batteries Save Tons of Money. Just as much power,
but they drain if you dont use them, so recharge after not using
for awhile.
- If you get a CD Player, make sure it plays MP3's. This way
you can store lots of music and AudioBooks. you can create your
own audio books with TextToSpeech programs. Gutenburg website
has thousands of free books.
- Find information super fast with Wikipedia.ORG, Google.COM,
Google Maps, WhitePages.com, LiveJournal's Communities, Google
Answers, Froogle. Also use GoogleEarth to find stores/streets/restraunts/business/more
in your area on a cool 3d globe.
- Locate local sales, rebates, coupons, trials, and free stuff.
cheap.typepad.com is a life saver.
- When buying items such as books, get them used and more than
half off with amazon.com. As for library related items such as
audiobooks, your local libraries can buy the book and lend it
to you. Copy audiobooks and movies.
- Instead of washing the kitchen floor, every 3 days or so I
drop a wet paper towel on the floor and move it around with my
shoe on the floor for a minute. Simple and takes one minute.
- Cut your own hair to save time and money. I do this. It'll
easily look professional unless you do it too fast. Get a hair
trimmer thing, dont use the length attachments, cut as much hair
off as you can. You'll be nearly bald but not completely. Take
your time, an hour or so, at the END carefully examine your hair
with two mirrors then ask someone to make sure its even everywhere.
They'll say yes nomatter what so go check again. The length will
be like less than half a centimeter, or you can use the length
attachments if you want it longer. When it grows out a little
use sizzors to cut above the ears. It feels good, VERY easy to
clean, its free, and ignore those who say "you look better
with long hair".
- Dont bother with shampoo, especially if you have short hair.
And no hand soap, just use hand-safe liquid dish soap when you
shower. Wash it all off, liquid dish soap can dry out your skin
if you dont rinse it off. Lather your entire body at once and
rinse thoroughly, this is the fastest way to shower! Use hair
conditioner and body lotion if youre obscessive about appearence,
you can get gallon containers of both at Costco.
- SAM-E and St. John's Wort are the two major depression relief
alternatives. They are very cheap and give you more energy, although
not a replacement for medication. Ginseng is a good vitamin supliment
for anti-stress but it wont relieve depression much. Get tested
if you think you have real depression.
